The Ride Over

Sept. 3, 2010
Dulles, Washington D.C.
Leave: 6:40 p.m. (D.C. time) Arrival: 7:00 a.m. (London time)
Flight 22

Sept. 3, 2010

I am usually a horrible airplane passenger. I did not like the take off or the landing. The flight was good though. We had a little turbulence which made getting up or using the bathroom an epic journey.
I was glad to find out that the airplane had individual television screens in the headrest. Every two hours they played a different movie that you could watch. They also had episodes of some shows, music, and video games. The first 2 hours were spent watching Sex and the City 2 (1 is better but hey...) I slept from Newfoundland to the center of the atlantic, not well, but I did. The rest of the time was spent playing battleship and doing suduko with Alex, another Readingite.

I finally got to Heathrow Airport. The line for customs was HUGE! It also didn't help that I was absolutely exhausted and scared that I will be stopped. Thank god I got through and it was easy to get through.

We found Lars Franke after we grabbed our suitcases and walked outside. Immediately I found myself in another world. The signs, cars, and buildings were different. The air was thicker. We drove on a highway and found immediately the differences that were so strange to me.

We finally got to 153 Whiteknights, my home for the next few months. It was amazing! Next post will be on the house!
